Jim Molyneux is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer and producer hailing from Lancashire, and now based in East London.

 

Jim has been widely in demand as a drummer, keys player and vocalist for live performances, radio, TV and theatre. His session credits in the past two years include performances with Lucy Rose, The Lost Words: Spell Songs, Bow Anderson, Izzy Bizu,Gabe Coulter, Beth McCarthy,  Janet Devlin, Grace Davies, Wilma Archer and many others.

 

In July 2022 he arranged five songs for The Lost Words: Spell Songs BBC Prom, with the Northern Sinfonia and VOTRE choir, which will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 from The Sage, Gateshead. In 2019 he also arranged an orchestral and choral rendition of The Lost Words Blessing, which he performed with Spell Songs and Southbank Sinfonia at London's Royal Albert Hall.

 

Jim also produces and releases his own songs under the moniker of EMBLM, as well as producing and remixing tracks for Manchester indie band Big Society, Harry Heart and several others.

 

He studied at Chethams School of Music for five years before moving on to the Royal Northern College of Music, where he graduated from in 2013.

As a teenager, Jim also made it to the highly acclaimed Grand Final of the BBC Young Musician of the Year, after triumphing in the percussion final. The Grand Final was televised on BBC2 to 1.1 million viewers.
