Jim Molyneux has been composing since he first began to
play the piano, aged eight; though only became serious
about it when he moved to Chethams School of Music, where
he took composition as his third study.
He has composed several commissioned pieces, including
three pieces played by contestants in the 2006 and 2008 BBC
Young Musician of the Year.
He also performed several of his own pieces in the
aforementioned competition, one of which was performed live
in front of 1.1 million viewers on BBC2.
